Yue - fanart
Oct. 6th, 2019 02:44 pmYue from Cardcaptor Sakura won my last "Who should I draw?" poll on Anime Amino.

For this piece this piece I'll be using bristol paper. It's a smooth surface paper and doesn't allow me to blend easily. It's not my favorite canvas, but it's good for quicker pieces.
MATERIALS:
Strathmore Bristol
Prismacolor nupastels
Prismacolor color pencils

To start, I redrew my sketch with gray colored pencil directly on the bristol board. The next step is to fill it in. To cover a lot of area fast, I used pastels.

I use sandpaper to grind down the sticks into a powder.

To apply the powder I used Q-tips. This helps me avoid using my fingers. While using fingers produces faster results, it has the tendency to leave fingerprints behind.

After laying down the base colors, I use the sticks to add more vivid hues where there would be shadows.

After applying the pastels, I add colored pencils to where I need more color.

And then I add a final outline to the drawing with various colored pencils.

And here's the final.
